Long Gully Working Kelpies
WELCOME!

Long Gully Working Kelpies is located on 300 irrigated acres in Kerang, Northern Victoria. We run a mix of sheep and cattle as well as a few Quarter Horses, we also stand the 1996 Reining Australia Futurity Champion "Ayres Roc" at stud.
In the early 1990's while managing a large Sheep and Cattle Station in NSW, we found ourselves in need of some good working Kelpies, we needed dogs that could put in big days, muster a paddock, work in the yards, back and bark, load trucks, work a race. They had to be dogs that were biddable, have good bone structure, be smart and easy to train.
We have continued to breed this style of dog by using Kelpies that have generations of outstanding proven dogs in their bloodlines and we have concentrated on maintaining those proven genetics in our working Kelpies.
We demand good trainable working athletes with plenty of bone and substance. Bloodlines and good work ethics are important to us. These past bloodlines are some of the foundation of the working Kelpie industry. You may occassionally find a Station bred dog within our bloodlines, and to us, thats OK, as most of these dogs were prized station workers. Every one of our breeding dogs are measured on their work ability - With a good calm mind, and athleticism up front and centre, good cast with balance, distance and eye.
We are members of the Working Kelpie Council (WKC) and all our dogs are registered with the WKC. All our pups are eligible for WKC registration and paperwork will be lodged upon sale.
Have a look around this website, if you have any questions please feel free to ask us. And if your passing by, feel free to pop in for a coffee -the kettle's always on.
